On October 23, 2015, we held our annual Pumpkin Patch activity organized by our Parent Teacher Organization. This much beloved event is held each Fall right before Halloween. Classes come to the pumpkin patch where each student has the opportunity to select their own pumpkin. Each class had a chance to take a group photo before entering the pumpkin patch and some even came dressed in their Halloween costumes.

The children love running among the pumpkins as they carefully select their favorite one to take home. The "farmer" gave the kids hints on how to pick out a good pumpkin. Some of the children could barely carry their pumpkins and were helped by all the wonderful volunteers to load the wagons to take the pumpkins back to class. A few of them wanted to take home more than one pumpkin! We donated the surplus pumpkins to our neighbors at Shriner's Hospital and Kapiolani Hospital to enjoy.

Pumpkins are so much fun! They are great to decorate, and also great for soup and pumpkin seeds. Ask our school chef Ms. Kat if you want some recipes!

Thank you to the family that donated all of the pumpkins…as well as the parent volunteers, staff and administrators for setting up the Pumpkin Patch.
